Harmonious Chaos is a phrase, often used around here that describes how NYCAers do what they do. It’s a mystical balance of risk and science, commerc and phlanthropy, sweat and heart, measurability and gut instinct.
NYCA’s culture is an intangible that can be felt. It’s a supportive and energetic environment that helps us to work better towards our common goal, to grow! our clients businesses and to grow! personally, as individuals. This page will give insight into our creative culture and some of the tools we use to keep it alive and thriving.

The Vortex in our New York room is an emotionally-based montage of images we created for our clients’ brands.
Each was taken from an ad, a site, an outdoor board, a banner, a TV spot, a POP.
We tear, cut, and rip them as a demonstration of how we work over our ideas and executions.
We tough-love them into grow! ideas.
These images are not separated from the viewer in frames or protected by glass.
They are not works of art, however artful.
They are blue collar working tools which we build and send out to the marketplace to get a job done.
The vortex that the images form speaks to the emotional quality that is in our work and in the way we work.
We believe that passion breeds true and deeply-felt communications. And those connections create authentic relationships.
The Vortex represents how we feel about the brands we work on, the clients we work with, and our commitment to one another.
We

These collages or “mandalas” as we refer to them, are expressions of NYCAers and their passions.
Our Flowers
Each month, everyone in the office gets a new ray of sunshine, along with its meaning. It’s just something small to brighten our days and inspire (as well as decorate our offices).
June: Orange Roses indicate enthusiasm, desire and fascination. Purple Roses stand for enhancement, magnification and opulence.May: White Roses represent unity, loyalty, sincerity and purity. Purple Asters recognize your patience.
April: the Ranuculus which means “radiant”. Lily (sometimes referred to as the Stargazer or Oriental) means “majesty”
March: The Gerber Daisy means “innocence”, “youthful beauty”, and “cheerfulness”. Iris means “my compliments”
February: The Anemone and means “anticipation”. Dendrobium Orchid means “beautiful”. Anthurium means “hospitality”
January: Spider Chrysanthemum means “a wonderful friend”. If it is yellow, it means “slighted love”. Dahlia means “dignity” and “elegance”.
Our Grove
Out back, between our building and the parking lot, you’ll find a row of potted trees. Yes, we are people who like plants, but more so it’s a reminder to us, every day that we walk in the door, that we must be striving to always nurture our clients and help them grow!
The Grove is where we meet when we celebrate new employees, anniversaries, promotions and momentious occasions. It’s where we hold celebrations for our clients when they achieve success. It’s a tribute to our hard work and dedication to growing together.
Within each potted plant, you will find a name plate for each client. As NYCA welcomes a new client, a tree is planted, a name is given and the nurturing and growing begins.

It’s a big deal around here when the trees bear fruit, the fruit is cut up and distributed to each NYCAer so we can taste and enjoy the ‘fruits of our labor’, so to speak.
The Learning Grove
NYCAers created a garden at Horton Elementary School in San Diego on January 17-18, 2008. The garden will be incorporated into the students’ curriculum so they will have the opportunity to grow! a garden while simultaneously growing as individuals. This video shows the before, during and after footage of the building process.
